Serif: A font type where small decorative lines are added onto each letter, which carries connotations of sophistication and tradition. Sans Serif: A type of font where serifs are not present on any letters, which carries connotations of simplicity and modernity. I chose Futura as it is a very clean and simple sans-serif font which has a very contemporary feel to it. I chose Kidish as it resembles a child's handwriting and would be easy for a child to read and identify with. I chose sports world as it looks a lot like the font used on a lot for a lot of American football teams as it has the same angular and serifed design. It also has a very bold and strong design, which is often associated with physical activities such as sports. I chose Helvetica Neue Bold as it has a simple sans-serif design which is also bold and broad. The design of this font carries connotations that are stereotypically assigned to men and masculinity. I chose Behind Script as it is very much the opposite of my choice for masculine font, Helvetica Neue Bold. Behind Script has a more complex and intricate design and is more slim and sleek, which carries connotations that are stereotypically signed to women and femininity. I chose Birds of Paradise as it is a detailed and intricate, yet easily legible serif font that carries a theme of sophistication. I chose Absender because of its thick and tall sans-serif letterforms which all follow a uniform size and width. I also chose this font because it is very striking and stands out on the page. I chose Old London as it very closely resembles the letterforms that were used in medieval England and are still used for some old fashioned establishments.
The font itself looks very old and thus ties in with a historic theme.
