AnalysisDo you like our interpretation of the design? This was a fairly simple, but nonetheless, important question to ask as it would reveal if the people generally liked our design, which is an important and basic first step when rebranding something. All of the people we interviewed said that they liked our design. Since the general concensus was that our logo was liked, I don't feel we need to make any major changes to the design of our logo. What do you like about our design?I aksed this question because it would reveal the specific features of our design that our interviewees liked, and would help me to understand why it is that my logo design was liked. The people we interviewed said that they liked our design because it looked neat and similar to the current Dave logo but had more of an appeal to a younger target audience. The responses I got revealed that my logo works well for a younger target audience and worked well for the Dave brand as it kept a similar theme to the official Dave logo. What could we improve about our design? I asked this in hopes of gaining some constructive criticism, so that I could see how to improve my logo. Everyone that we interviewed suggested that the logo should use more colour, which would make the logo more attractive and stand out far more. We also recieved feedback that we should use a bolder font. This feedback helps me as I know that to improve my design, I should use a bolder font and a greater variety of colours, or atleast a more vibrant colour than the current brown design. Does it match Dave’s corporate identity?I asked this as I wanted to know if people didn't just like our logo, but if they also felt that it suited the Dave channel. This is important because the logo needs to fit with the channel's dsign and not just look good. Everybody that we interviewed said that they feel our redesign of the logo sticks to the Dave brand's corporate identity. This feedback is helpful to me as it tells me that I designed my logo in the right way so that it still fits within the restraints of Dave's corporate identity, and that the design wasn't led astray. What does the Dave brand mean to you? I asked this because I wanted to know if my design suited what people felt about the Dave brand. Two of the people we interviewed associate the Dave brand with funny or comedic imagery. One of the people we interviewed associates the Dave brand with one specific show that he watches, namely, Top Gear. The other two people we interviewed have no association with the Dave brand as they are not viewers. I don't feel that the answers I recieved are exactly what I was expecting, but that may be down to the wording of the question itself. What imagery do you associate with the brand? This question was made to be similar to the previous question, but to reveal the imagery they associated with the brand, rather than their feelings towards it. One of the people we interviewed associated funny or comedic imagery with the Dave brand, whereas the others associated the Dave brand with either old people or an older audience. This question recieved more of the type of answer I was expecting, and the answers I got are more useful than those to the question before. The majority of the interviewees answered that they relate the Dave brand with older people, which could be a sign that the Dave brand is not correctly targeting a younger audience which they claim to be trying to. What should we include in our rebranded ident? I asked this so I could get an understanding of the type of imagery that people would like to see within the Dave idents.
The main suggestion for what we should include in our rebranded ident was more colour, though other suggestions included a bolder font, something that would appear to a younger audience and something to appeal to the current target audience. The answers I recieved reveal that people would generally like to see a greater use of colour in my rebranded Dave ident.
